10 Commandments of a Successful Marriage

The rate of divorce has gone up increasingly in the past years. Let’s not even touch the world of Hollywood where a year in marriage is such a milestone. The world’s standard of love and marriage has been completely distorted. People marry for the wrong reasons and get separated for the shallowest causes.

These days, relationships start without even looking forward into the future. Individuals don’t ask themselves, “Is this the person I want to marry?” People jump from one relationship to another and are so afraid of commitment. The word “love” is even considered to be a word you should be afraid of instead of being excited about.

Let us remember how God designed marriage. Marriage involves true love between two people. And that true love only comes from God who is love. If you do not have God in you, then there’s a big possibility of you and your spouse having problems in the future. It’s fundamental that we know what kind of love is required of us to be in a good and long lasting relationship.

“God created marriage. No government subcommittee envisioned it. No social organization developed it. Marriage was conceived and born in the mind of God.”  – Max Lucado
